I am currently doing my 2 weeks opthalmology posting. I am sure there are a lot of things for me to learn in this posting. I have not seen eyes conditions like blepharitis, conjunctivitis, erosions, glaucome, pupil abnormalities, fundal diseases blah blah blah. Given the massive amount of knowlegde that we medical students need to acquire, it is rather shocking to find out that my time table is pretty free. I took 20 minutes to walk to the hospital and another 20 minutes home. And guess what?? I only attended half an hour clinics seeing 3 patients for today (supposed to be an hour session but the doctor was busy). Time spent for walking on the street was more than that in the hospital. I wonder if medical students elsewhere are as free as I. This is a wee bit worrying as I am not confident that I can attain sufficient knowledge and practices to serve as a houseman upon my graduation.
Lets dont call this block as opthalmology. Call it as opthalmoholidays.
Hmmm, but the fun part of this relaxing schedule is we can take our time to do self revision (if I 'got' mood la) and can spend time on sport. OK OK time for more SQUASHhhhh and Running!!!
Happy Holidays!! Hihihihi :-)
